Parenting isn’t meant to be done alone

Specialized Therapy for Pregnant and Parenting People

Because this season is hard enough and you don’t have to do it alone. Support for pregnancy, the postpartum months, and everything that comes with becoming a parent. At your pace, with someone who has been there.

Chahdael became a perinatal specialized therapist after her own experience with postpartum depression. She felt let down by the system meant to help her and promised to become the therapist that she needed, so that no one else would struggle alone.

How I work

I'm a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist through Postpartum Support International. Perinatal care is the heart of my practice. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. Healing happens at your own pace, and it happens in connection.

Depending on what you need, our work may include:

  • EMDR, including attachment-focused EMDR, to help process a hard birth, a loss, or older hurts that parenthood has stirred up

  • Interpersonal Neurobiology, to support the understanding that your struggle isn’t just hormonal or cognitive, but the result of a combination of relational, somatic and experiential responses.

  • Trauma-focused CBT, for practical tools to manage anxiety and intrusive thoughts

  • Attachment-based, relational work, to help you reconnect with yourself, your partner, and your baby

I'm also a mom of three and a survivor of postpartum depression. I know how hard it can be to care for yourself while caring for everyone else.

What sessions look like?

  1. Free consult call. We talk briefly about what's going on and whether I'm the right fit. No pressure.

  2. First session. You share your story and what you hope for. We start building a plan that feels supportive and sustainable.

  3. Ongoing sessions. We meet in person in Toledo or virtually anywhere in Ohio. Telehealth works well when you're feeding, napping, or between errands. Babies are welcome on screen and in arms in person.

Who would benefit?

Becoming a parent can stir up love, fear, joy, and loss, sometimes all at once. If something feels heavier than you expected, you're not doing it wrong. You might be here because of:

  • Anxiety or worry that won't settle, during pregnancy or after baby arrives

  • Postpartum depression, or feeling numb, flat, or not like yourself

  • A birth that didn't go the way you hoped, or that still feels scary to think about

  • Pregnancy loss, miscarriage, or grief that others may not see

  • Changes in your relationship with your partner since baby

  • The identity shift of becoming a parent, and missing who you were before

  • Parenting while managing your own health, or caring for others
